Understanding the Subscription Pool
The pool is the total money collected from all paying subscribers in a calendar month. Here's exactly how it flows to you.
Collect all subscription payments
The pool comes from parent/guardian subscriptions — families paying for their children to read your books. Publisher account fees (for AI tools) are separate and not included in the royalty pool.
Split 50/50
Half stays with KinderLib for platform operations. Half goes to the Publisher Royalty Pool.
Count qualified reads & distribute
We count all qualified reads across the platform that month, then calculate each publisher's share based on how many qualified reads their books received.
Your monthly earnings formula
Your Payout = Pool × 50% × (Your Reads ÷ Total Reads)
Get paid via bank transfer
Payments are processed on the 1st of each month for the previous month's earnings. Track your reads and estimated earnings in real time on your publisher dashboard.
What Counts as a Qualified Read?
A read is qualified when it meets either of these criteria:
50%+ pages read
Reader engages with most of the book
5+ minutes reading
Genuine reading, not just browsing
90%+ completed
Reader finishes nearly the entire book
Quick previews
Opening a book briefly doesn't count
Repeat same session
Same user re-reading within 24h counts once
